Elizabeth History Museum
The Elizabeth History Museum houses over four-thousand local history artifacts inluding exhibits on lead mining and farming. Many special exhibits hold local flavor with artifacts from area businesses, schools, and churches. The Elizabeth History Musuem is also home to an extensive collection of military artifacts, featuring numerous items from local veterans.
Settle in to one of the antique seats from Bishop's Opera House, once the site for all manner of social happenings in Elizabeth. Such events included dances, roller skating, vaudeville shows, movies and much more.
A variety of informative and entertaining videos may also be enjoyed with subjects such as farming, Elizabeth Fair parades and lead mining, among others.
The Elizabeth History Museum is located at 110 E. Myrtle Street (directly across from the CGW Railway Depot Museum) in Elizabeth, Illinois and is open to the public every Saturday from 11:00am until 3:00pm during the months of May through October.
